Job Description

An established legal organization is seeking a qualified and experienced Immigration Attorney to join their team. The attorney will play a key role in providing legal counsel, representation, and advocacy for individuals, families, or businesses navigating immigration law matters. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with expertise in immigration proceedings and the ability to manage complex caseloads effectively and empathetically.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and representation to clients in immigration-related cases, including family-based immigration, employment-based immigration, asylum, removal defense, and naturalization processes.
  • Prepare and file immigration petitions, applications, and legal briefs with federal and state agencies and courts, ensuring full compliance with legal regulations.
  • Represent clients in administrative hearings, deportation proceedings, and other immigration-related legal processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in immigration laws, policies, and procedures to ensure accurate and effective legal counsel for clients.
  • Research and analyze case law, statutes, and regulations to develop legal strategies tailored to each client's unique circumstances.
  • Communicate with clients, government agencies, and other legal professionals to gather and provide critical case information.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of client information and adhere to all ethical and professional standards.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support clients’ immigration goals.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with CA state bar.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an attorney.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. immigration laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in preparing immigration applications, filings, and legal briefs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in a second language preferred but not required.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases effectively, with keen attention to detail and timelines.
  • Empathy and cultural sensitivity when dealing with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
