Job Description

The Benefits Specialist II position provides team members with benefits enrollment information, timely responses to all benefit inquiries, and oversite of insurance billing processes. This is a transactional role that requires attention to detail, a commitment to discretion and a passion for service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Acts as the point of contact for insurance administrators, human resources, team members inquiries regarding the medical health plan and life insurance plans

· Assists with inquiries regarding the retirement plan

· Oversee the transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration

· Ensures compliance with applicable government regulations

· Ensures timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and feeds

· Oversees New Hire benefit enrollments, determine employee eligibility, COBRA, terminations, changes, and accident and death claims,

· Tracks employee data and oversees the processing of monthly billings

· Investigates and works to resolve discrepancies during the reconciliation of monthly billings

· Collaborate with the accounting department for payments and deductions

· Develop communication to advertise benefit programs

· Manages open enrollment on an annual basis

Assists to drive continuous improvements with an emphasis on optimizing processes, improving productivity and reducing costs

· Develop positive relationships with key customers, reinforcing our commitment to customer service and regularly validating that we are meeting/exceeding expectations

· Oversees employee records are updated with all relevant information

· Update SharePoint as necessary with employee data

· Helps to develop correspondence and reports as needed

· Supports audit requests and other reporting requests by running reports out of Excel. Helps maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data

· Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

· A minimum of one (1) year or more experience with health benefits administration; with knowledge of different plans and relevant regulations.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Systems such as Excel, Word and Outlook required. Expert proficiency preferred

· A high level of detail orientation required

· Prior accounting and/or payroll experience is preferred

· Experience working within Automatic Data Processing (ADP) preferred

· Understanding of data recording and analysis

· Familiarity with Affordable Care Act reporting

· Self-motivated individuals able to work collaboratively in a team environment

· Excellent written and verbal skills required

· Excellent organization skills and strong interpersonal skills

· Must be at least 18 years of age

· Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
