Job Description

About the Company

PakLab is a leading contract manufacturer specializing in health & beauty and household products. With three decades of professional product development service experience, we are setting a new standard in contract manufacturing. With our innate understanding of product design, development and formulation, as well as manufacturing and packaging mechanics, we work with our clients as a fully integrated strategic partner, creating innovative products from the bottom up. We employ a world-class team of Engineers, Chemists, Microbiologists, Lab Technicians, Designers, and Packaging Specialists who oversee the process from conception to completion. Service is the cornerstone of our corporate culture, and we will devote whatever resources are necessary to ensure a complete understanding of our customers’ needs in order to achieve their goals.

About the Role

PakLab is looking for a resourceful and cost-conscious Buyer to manage the procurement of manufacturing supplies, tools, and equipment. This role is more than just placing orders - it's about bringing strategic insight to purchasing decisions that impact uptime, efficiency, and the bottom line.

You'll play a key role in evaluating not just what to buy, but why - analyzing usage trends and identifying opportunities for cost savings, smarter sourcing, and better ROI. For example, you'll help answer questions like: Are we spending more replacing a part repeatedly than we would on a new machine?

If you enjoy solving operational puzzles, streamlining processes, and driving value through smarter buying, this is your kind of role.

Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase manufacturing supplies, repair parts, tools, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering to understand procurement needs.
  • Evaluate when it's more cost-effective to replace a part versus investing in new equipment.
  • Monitor repeat purchases and identify opportunities to reduce waste or improve ROI.
  • Research, evaluate, and onboard vendors to ensure quality, value, and reliability.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and lead times to support both immediate and long-term needs.
  • Resolve issues with shipments, quality, or invoices in coordination with internal teams.
  • Analyze purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
  • Maintain purchasing records, compliance documentation, and ensure timely order follow-up.
  • Support equipment purchases from sourcing through delivery, installation, and setup coordination.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in purchasing, inventory, or supply chain management.
  • 1 or more years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing or plant environment.
  • Experience with eMaint or similar CMMS platforms is required.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills with a cost-conscious mindset.
  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Ability to recognize cost trends, track ROI, and suggest capital improvements.
  • Comfortable working across teams and navigating competing priorities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and data analysis.
  • Organized, proactive, and self-directed with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and pull a minimum of 25 lbs.
  • Requires walking, standing and sitting for lengthy periods of time.
  • Certain areas require the use of safety equipment (i.e. safety glasses in the production/laboratory areas).
  • Requires bending, pulling, pushing, reaching above shoulder/ below waist levels and climbing of stairs.

Pay range and compensation package: 68,640K-80K yearly salary, 401k plan, medical, dental, etc.

Why Join PakLab?

At PakLab, we do more than manufacture - we innovate. We're looking for someone who can bring insight to every purchase, help us spend smarter, and reduce operational downtime. Your work will directly impact how efficiently we operate and how wisely we invest in our plant.

Join us and bring your sharp eye for cost, quality, and value to a growing team that appreciates proactive thinkers and smart decision-makers.

Equal Opportunity Statement - PakLab is an equal opportunity employer. Qualified applicants will be considered without regard to age, race, creed, color, national origin, ancestry, marital status, affectional or sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, nationality, sex, religion, or veteran status.
