Data Center Commissioning Lead

As part of their ongoing growth and success, they are seeking a skilled Data Center Commissioning Lead to oversee the mechanical commissioning of hyperscale data centers.

This role will be responsible for managing the commissioning process of mechanical systems in hyperscale data centers. This role involves overseeing project timelines, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) construction, commissioning, and project management.

Focus:

• Lead and manage the mechanical commissioning process for large-scale data center projects.
• Collaborate with design, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure project objectives are met.
• Manage quality assurance, validation, and record-keeping for mechanical components and systems.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety protocols, and best practices.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and contractors, to maintain project timelines and budget.
• Diagnose and resolve problems that arise during system startup, implementing effective solutions to ensure smooth operation.
• Provide technical expertise on mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, and other MEP components.
• Maintain project documentation and ensure all commissioning reports are completed accurately.

Skill Set:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or a minimum of five years of experience in MEP construction, commissioning, and project management.
• Proven experience working on the design and/or construction of hyperscale data centers.
• Professional Engineering (PE) License is an advantage.
• OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety certification is required; OSHA 30-hour certification is preferred.
• Knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS) is a plus.
• Hands-on field experience in mechanical systems commissioning is highly desirable.
• Must possess NFPA 70E certification for electrical safety compliance.
• Certification in Building Commissioning (Cx) is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to travel up to 50% nationwide.
