Butterfly Staffing is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer for our prestigious Architectural, Engineering, and Construction client in Virginia Beach, VA. The ideal candidate will be a team-oriented professional who collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to produce high-quality engineering documents. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and organizational abilities are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist engineers in preparing construction documents for power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
Coordinate with architects, mechanical/plumbing engineers, and other trades for power and control requirements.
Support development of electrical system one-line diagrams.
Perform field verification and documentation of existing electrical systems for renovation projects.
Communicate with manufacturer representatives to identify appropriate solutions for specific applications.
Participate in construction administration including RFI responses, submittal reviews, site visits, and punch list verification.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of electrical design experience in a consulting engineering environment.
Working knowledge of design software such as Revit and AutoCAD.
Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC), State Energy Codes, NFPA, and FGI guidelines.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Associate degree in Engineering Technology or a related field preferred, or equivalent training in Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD).
