Aerospace Electromechanical Inspector (Full-Time, Ongoing Contract)

We are seeking a Quality Inspector to support two locations in Waukegan, IL, and Franklin, WI (47 miles apart). This role requires travel between sites to perform inspections on aerospace and electromechanical components.

Job Description:

The Quality Inspector will visit customer supplier facilities to conduct visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies. Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring parts meet engineering drawings, customer purchase orders, industry standards, and specifications.
• Performing inspections on machined and electrical components (e.g., cables, harnesses).
• Reporting accept/reject inspection results directly to the customer.

Requirements:

• Experience in in-process and final inspections of machined parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies.
• Strong knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 – Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) or equivalent standards.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and purchase orders (POs).
• Experience conducting First Article Inspections (FAIs) per AS9102 and familiarity with industry standards.
• Minimum 5 years of inspection experience in aerospace, military, or defense manufacturing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel and ability to work with digital reporting tools.
• Must be technically savvy with internet-based tools and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Relocation is not available.
