About the Role

We’re looking for an Email Deliverability Engineer who will take full ownership of our outbound email infrastructure and strategy. This role is critical to scaling our customer acquisition efforts and ensuring world-class inbox placement and sender reputation. You’ll work cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, and product teams to drive measurable impact.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain systems that maximize email deliverability across major providers (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.)
• Manage and monitor DNS records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, BIMI) and ensure proper configuration
• Develop and execute IP warming strategies and domain reputation best practices
• Analyze delivery data using Postmaster Tools, SNDS, and other reporting platforms
• Monitor and improve email sending practices, including bounce handling and suppression lists
• Collaborate with engineering on sending architecture, rate limiting, and queue management
• Stay current on email compliance (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, etc.) and adjust practices accordingly
• Educate internal teams on optimal sending frequency, volume, and content practices

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience managing email deliverability at scale
• Deep understanding of SMTP protocols, DNS records, and email authentication standards
• Familiarity with cloud email services like SendGrid, Mailgun, Amazon SES, etc.
• Strong troubleshooting skills—comfortable digging through headers and logs
• Experience with blacklists, deliverability tools, and remediation strategies
• Bonus: background in AI-powered outreach tools, SaaS, or marketing automation platforms
