Position Overview

We are seeking a Commercial HVAC Equipment Estimator in Nashville, Tennessee to drive HVAC equipment sales. The day-to-day tasks include assisting Outside Sales Engineers to provide timely estimates of HVAC material on commercial and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review construction plans and specifications to accurately determine project requirements.
  • Utilize OST software to perform material take-offs from construction drawings.
  • Select appropriate HVAC equipment based on provided specifications and cross-reference materials when not listed as the basis of design.
  • Price equipment lists using manufacturer pricing software and databases.
  • Collaborate with Sales Engineers to develop strategic and competitive quotations.
  • Prepare and distribute detailed quotations to contractors in a timely manner.
  • Maintain interactive communication with sales teams, factory representatives, and customers to ensure accurate and efficient quoting.
  • Manage workload effectively in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Perform job functions in an office setting, including extended periods of computer work and communication with team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred) or Building Construction, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience working with commercial HVAC products.
  • Strong technical aptitude and product knowledge, including pre-sale and post-sale support.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows-based software for selection, pricing, quoting, submittals, ordering, expediting, and billing.
  • Basic math skills and strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects (30-150 at different stages) while prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve application, delivery, and installation issues.
  • Comfort handling shifting priorities and meeting deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong multitasking skills while maintaining a customer-focused approach.
  • A "can-do" attitude with a proactive approach to customer needs.
  • Strong phone presence and ability to build relationships with clients and internal teams.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
