Position Overview
We are seeking a Commercial HVAC Equipment Estimator in Nashville, Tennessee to drive HVAC equipment sales. The day-to-day tasks include assisting Outside Sales Engineers to provide timely estimates of HVAC material on commercial and industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Review construction plans and specifications to accurately determine project requirements.
- Utilize OST software to perform material take-offs from construction drawings.
- Select appropriate HVAC equipment based on provided specifications and cross-reference materials when not listed as the basis of design.
- Price equipment lists using manufacturer pricing software and databases.
- Collaborate with Sales Engineers to develop strategic and competitive quotations.
- Prepare and distribute detailed quotations to contractors in a timely manner.
- Maintain interactive communication with sales teams, factory representatives, and customers to ensure accurate and efficient quoting.
- Manage workload effectively in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Perform job functions in an office setting, including extended periods of computer work and communication with team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred) or Building Construction, or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience working with commercial HVAC products.
- Strong technical aptitude and product knowledge, including pre-sale and post-sale support.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows-based software for selection, pricing, quoting, submittals, ordering, expediting, and billing.
- Basic math skills and strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects (30-150 at different stages) while prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve application, delivery, and installation issues.
- Comfort handling shifting priorities and meeting deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong multitasking skills while maintaining a customer-focused approach.
- A "can-do" attitude with a proactive approach to customer needs.
- Strong phone presence and ability to build relationships with clients and internal teams.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
