The Field Service Technician - Electrical Engineering role is designed for professionals with hands-on experience in installing, starting, and commissioning electrical distribution equipment and who are looking to transition to an office-based role. The primary focus is on generating accurate service quotations, including scopes of work and time estimates, rather than sales.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
• Quotation Development:
Prepare accurate and detailed service quotations for the installation, start-up,
commissioning, maintenance, and repair of electrical distribution equipment.
Develop detailed scopes of work (SOW) tailored to each project, defining tasks,
timelines, and resource requirements.
• Technical Support:
Leverage field experience to interpret technical drawings, equipment
specifications, and system requirements.
Act as a technical resource for customers and internal teams, providing
expertise on equipment capabilities and service needs.
• Process Coordination:
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to
gather necessary information for accurate quotations.
• Customer Interaction:
Communicate with customers to clarify service requirements, address t
technical questions, and explain scopes of work.
• In-House Spares Management:
Oversee the inventory of spare parts for electrical distribution equipment,
ensuring availability for service projects.
• Technical Support During Startup and Commissioning:
Provide occasional on-site technical support during startup and
commissioning phases to assist field teams in resolving complex issues.
Requirements:
• Minimum 3–5 years of field experience in installing, starting, and commissioning electrical distribution equipment, such as transformers, switchgear, and breakers.
• Ability to create detailed scopes of work for installation, start-up, and commissioning projects, including time and resource estimates.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, standards, and safety practices.
• Proficiency in analyzing technical documents, scopes of work, and project requirements to develop accurate cost estimates.
• Familiarity with quoting software, spreadsheets, and estimation tools.
• Experience working with large scale power distribution manufacturers preferred.
• Familiarity with ERP or CRM systems for quoting and customer management.
• Knowledge of industry-specific service standards and warranty programs.
