Freight Operations Supervisor

(Logistics Network & Cargo Operations)

Job Responsibilities

  1. Lead a team to cooperate on daily level with overseas agents and partners to make sure cargo must be smoothly arranged and shipped/received.
  2. Translate the company’s operational strategy to processes to manage the overseas agents and partners to work in a certain way aligned with the company’s strategy
  3. Take the ownership of the overseas handling agents and partners in all projects, including but not limited to 4PL projects; warehousing; forwarding.
  4. Ensure the overseas agents and partners achieve all KPIs set by HQ operation team and if not, the case take necessary corrective action to ensure better performance.
  5. Ensure local own operation team is also managed according to above standards. (Local shipments will be much less compared to overseas shipments)
  6. Act as key regional system process owner and trainer for rest of team and network, following the system instructions and set-up set by HQ IT and OP teams.
  7. Act as key escalation point towards overseas handling agents and partners to solve problems including but not limited to operational; commercial; financial; legal; etc.
  8. Regular periodic reviews held with all overseas agents and partners. Periodic visits to countries of partners and/or participate network events.
  9. Drive mutual business exchange, ensuring partners reciprocate business opportunities.
  10. Set-up process and systems to proactively identify issues in supply chains of our clients and work with commercial teams to offer solutions to clients that solve their problems and generate business for us and our partners.

Requirement:

  1. Degree in relevant disciplines with min 5 years working as supervisor/team leader freight forwarding company
  2. Solid experience in FCL Ocean Export
  3. Experience with PO management projects
  4. Ability to communicate with counterpart in English and Spanish / Portuguese speaking
  5. Working hours flexibility to accommodate meetings in the morning time of Malaysia/China teams. (GMT +8)
  6. Proactive attitude to solve operational problems in the ship liners network
  7. Ability to generate additional business
  8. Openness for regular travel to overseas partners’ regions and logistic network events.
