MUST HAVES:
- B.S. in Engineering, Science Safety or Health, or related technical field
- 2+ years of progressively more responsible work experience in safety related or with safety emphasis. Exposure to and knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of federal, state and local EHS regulations
Position Overview :
The general function of the EHS Coordinator is to implement occupational safety and health programs and policies designed to help prevent harm to workers, property and the environment, as well as the public. The EHS Coordinator ensures site compliance with governmental regulatory requirements and standards as related to the safety, occupational health, and environmental arena.
Key Accountabilities
- Implementing and administering plant safety programs in accordance with federal and state regulations to provide a safe work environment.
- Insure compliance with OSHA requirements and local jurisdictions.
- Developing, implementing and administering to plant regulatory programs in accordance with corporate guidelines. Insure compliance with EPA, state, and local requirements relative to hazard communication, hazardous waste management, recycling and sewer discharge.
- Assist in the development, implementing and administering operations/safety technical training to insure safe and efficient operation of equipment.
- Assists management in the monthly inspection of workplaces to assure safe and healthful conditions for workers. Prepares appropriate notices for management to issue for abatement of any identified hazards.
- Provides promotional materials, develops, and administers recognition system to promote safe and healthful work performance.
- Manage incident reports, record keeping and metrics according to corporate guidelines.
- Provides appropriate safety and health, accident prevention, and investigation training for managers and supervisors. Provides on-boarding safety training to all new team members.
- Assists management and supervisors in investigating accidents and developing measures to prevent recurrences.
- Serve as the plant resource for best work practices.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- The EHS Coordinator position provides guidance, leadership or training to other employees however does not supervise any other position.

- Experienced user of Microsoft Windows software, SAP experience a plus

Physical Demands

Working Hours
- Normal office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday with a 40 hour work week. Weekend hours maybe required for special project work.
- Department Managers or Supervisors establish weekend hours.
