Job Description

LA Legal Advocates is seeking a BILINGUAL (ENGLISH/SPANISH) Law Clerk to assist in legal research, case preparation, and procedural compliance for our immigration law firm. The ideal candidate will support attorneys in various immigration matters, including USCIS filings, court cases, and client interactions. Requirements:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish
Strong legal research and writing skills
Ability to analyze and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
Maintain strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines effectively
Demonstrate flexibility and initiative regarding assignments
Minimum of 2 years of experience in immigration law (law clerk, legal assistant, or paralegal experience preferred)
Currently enrolled in or graduated from an ABA-accredited law school preferred
Knowledge of USCIS procedures, EOIR filings, and case preparation is a plus

Duties Include:

Conducting legal research on immigration laws, policies, and case precedents
Drafting and preparing legal memoranda, motions, and client declarations
Assisting in the preparation and filing of USCIS and EOIR applications , including I-485, I-751, SIJS, VAWA, asylum applications, and consular filings
Reviewing and organizing evidence for filings and hearings
Managing case files and tracking deadlines in the case management system
Translating documents such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, and affidavits
Communicating with clients regarding case status and required documents
Supporting attorneys with court appearances and hearings as needed
Review FOIAs and draft synopsis

Hours:

Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
