Primary Services is excited to announce a new opportunity with our client, a prominent player in the energy sector. As the Lead Mechanical Process Engineer , you will manage process engineering services for LNG projects, ensuring they meet regulatory specifications, are delivered on time, and stay within budget. Your ability to oversee process modeling, troubleshooting, and equipment specifications will be pivotal in driving success across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage process engineering services in compliance with statutory and regulatory specifications.
  • Lead process engineering efforts on LNG projects, ensuring clear project scope and managing changes through project change management processes.
  • Oversee requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and purchase order preparation during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
  • Proactively resolve discrepancies between project interfaces and stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on the latest technical innovations and advancements in process engineering.
  • Assist and mentor junior personnel within the process engineering team.
  • Generate, review, and approve key process deliverables such as H&MB, PFD’s, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and more.
  • Conduct process studies to troubleshoot operational issues in natural gas processing and liquefaction.
  • Perform equipment sizing calculations and specifications for separation vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, control valves, and PSVs.
  • Review inter-disciplinary deliverables including piping layouts, isometrics, and mechanical equipment specifications.
  • Provide support and advice during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
  • Participate in risk reviews, HAZIDs, HAZOPs, and other safety assessments.
  • Willingness to travel to remote project sites as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical and/or Process Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in LNG and gas processing projects from concept to execution, commissioning, and start-up.
  • Strong knowledge of process engineering fundamentals and industry-specific standards and regulations.
  • Proficient in industry software including Aspen HYSYS, Unisim Design, and MS Office Suite.
  • Proven track record of working in multi-disciplinary teams within large-scale projects.
  • Competence in process studies, equipment sizing, and troubleshooting operational issues.
  • Solid understanding of LNG-specific statutory and regulatory specifications.
