Job Description

The LED Technician will be based out of our Chatsworth, CA location. This is an intermediate-level position at a globally leading LED display manufacturer. The candidate will be responsible for responding to customer technical support requests, training field technicians on the proper use of LED screens and LED processor equipment, and traveling throughout North America to provide on-site technical support.

The LED Technician will work directly with our customers and collaborate closely with the technical, quality control, sales, and warehouse teams to ensure customers receive the best service and support. This is a highly collaborative role, which requires excellent organization, attention to detail, clear communication, and a passion for problem-solving.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the in-house Technical Manager, the LED Technician provides the following contributions to the team:

  • Responds to customer support requests via phone and email
  • Updates and documents client issues and communicates information on reported product defects to management
  • Maintains a professional, helpful, and positive demeanor in all interactions with clients and partners
  • Assists with project builds and tear downs at on-site and off-site locations
  • Frequently travels for installations, on-site training, technical support, and product demonstrations – Travel makes up 50-75% of this position
  • Assists with the planning, installation, and operation of exhibitions at multiple tradeshows annually
  • Responds to customer support requests via the 24/7 tech support phone line (shared responsibility with the Technical Support team)

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you have the following skills and qualifications under your belt:

  • 2+ years field experience installing LED video systems in the touring or live-events industry
  • Extensive knowledge of LED video-related products and subsequent terminology
  • Knowledge and experience supporting Windows operating systems
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • An ability to work independently to interface with customers and provide solutions to
  • technical support requests
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer support experience
  • Available to travel on short notice, outside of standard work hours (Therefore a valid driver’s license and passport are required)
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with ROE LED products and processing systems
  • Familiarity with media servers
  • Familiarity with Vectorworks and/or AutoCAD
  • Bilingual (Spanish/Chinese)
  • The salary range for this position is $70,000-85,000 USD annually. The base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
