We are currently seeking a Materials Buyer who will be responsible for Value Stream Buying and multiple commodities.

The Materials Buyer will be responsible for preparing and processing requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services, and supplies for customer-related business processes or for internal use. They will work to negotiate favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers and drive ongoing supplier optimization and continuous improvement.

This position reports to the Senior Manager of Materials & Planning and is part of the Supply Chain team located in Indianapolis and will be an on-site role.

The essential requirements of the job are:

  • Bachelors’ degree with 2+ years of experience in a tactical or strategic procurement role, directly supporting manufacturing or project management
  • Strong organizational, communication and detailed operational process skills to keep all parties informed of attainment or missing metric targets
  • Experience driving results in negotiating and following up with suppliers
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, high volume of suppliers and parts, and escalating issues as appropriate
  • Proficient with ERP, Excel, and agility in learning new software

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Preferred - APICS CPIM, CSCP, or CPM Certification
  • Experience in manufacturing planning for instrument/accessory products
