Our first manufacturing site (Burlington, Ontario) commenced operations in May 2024. We have advanced product solutions (graphene-based dispersions) for concrete, asphalt, paints/coatings/composites, and tire/rubber markets.

Materials Engineer Position Summary:

This position will support our leading Application Scientists/Engineers to advance our FJH technology to produce Turbostratic Graphene and subsequent dispersions for the target applications. The Materials Engineer I will have the chance to exercise exceptional problem-solving skills in a lab environment to ensure excellent execution of diverse projects and reporting/analysis of results. There will also be opportunities to assist in the design and full execution of forward projects.

With experience, this position will have growing responsibilities to lead some key parts of the product/application development process. Responsibilities will vary widely according to the needs of the business. Position Responsibilities - Primary:

  • Communicate with project managers to detail the requirements of the project, assist in project plan and workflow developments, and prepare steps for successful execution.
  • Conduct assigned tasks and follow work plans and timelines, ensuring individual tasks are completed on schedule and in compliance with project goals.
  • Perform material handling and processing tasks to support graphene applications and product development.
  • Develop and propose new ideas or revise current practices for a more effective operation that continues to produce the highest quality products.
  • Stay informed about cutting-edge technologies in relevant fields and monitor the progress and status of competitors to ensure the company remains innovative and competitive.
  • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that each component of the project adheres to the high standards of the company. Elevate key observations/results that may be outside of expectations.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on time and at the quality expectations of the plan.
  • Ensures thorough engineering and project documentation.
  • Communicates and steward’s projects to stakeholders.
  • Assesses and ensures compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.
  • Track performance and analyze the completion of key goals.
  • Contributes to company/team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering or related field: Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science & Engineering preferred.
  • Some previous work experience preferred (~1-2 years) in lab environment: e.g. Intern, Co-Op Student, or Full-time position.
  • Education background and/or work experience in fields of polymers/rubbers/elastomers is highly desirable.

  • Knowledge and adherence with applicable health and safety regulations
