Job Description

Must Haves

  • Doctor of Medicine degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree
  • 7+ years of Family Practice experience
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience over clinical staff
  • Experience in evaluation diagnosis and treatment in Primary Care with special emphasis in cross cultural health care setting.

Day to Day

  • Responsible for supervisory and clinical oversight of Clinical Pharmacist, Medical Doctors, Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Speech Language Pathologist, Physical Therapists, and Occupational Therapist Responsible for ensuring (un’ina) patient access while maintaining quality care and maximizing productivity
  • Oversees and completes quality assurance and quality improvement activities, peer review, and policy and procedure review and implementation
  • Assists in creating medical protocol standardization and ensures that providers practice to the accepted standards of care
  • Collaborates with Health Systems Departments and Tribal Departments to optimize the integration of programs, holistic patient care and to improve population health outcomes
  • In collaboration with Health Systems leadership staff, recommends new and innovative modalities for treatment of various health conditions
  • Aides in the credentialing and privileging of new providers to the Dena’ina Wellness Center
  • Serve as the overseeing physician for Dena’ina Wellness Center’s medical care including such programs as immunizations, standing orders/protocols, collaborative practice/plan agreements, infection prevention/epidemiology, laboratory services, and employee health screening
  • Works effectively and cooperatively with the clinical team to provide medical consultations to clinical staff, direction in the development and conducts medical educational and training
  • Ensures compliance with Tribal, federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, Tribal policies and TERO ordinance

Compensation:

$170,400-213,408 per year salary range.
