Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to perform high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) exams for diagnostic and treatment purposes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical accuracy, patient-centered care, and strong communication skills while working in a clinical or academic setting.

Shift & Schedule

  • Shift: Day/Evening
  • Hours: 5x8-hour shifts
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
  • Contract Duration: 76 weeks

Responsibilities

  • Perform MRI studies as ordered by physicians or providers according to approved protocols.
  • Conduct IV punctures and administer contrast agents as required.
  • Ensure technical accuracy and timely completion of exams, including proper anatomical orientation on images.
  • Communicate pertinent data to care teams and consult with professional staff regarding interpretation of results.
  • Schedule patients for MRI exams and assist with QA/QI of PACS system.
  • Maintain accurate patient identification and complete computer functions per department policy (edits, status changes, charges, logging, film marking, storage preparation).
  • Stay current with advancements in MRI technology and implement improvements as appropriate.
  • Provide patient education and individualized care based on developmental and cultural needs.
  • Ensure a safe, secure environment and adhere to infection control and emergency procedures.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 3–6 months experience as an MRI Technologist.
  • Knowledge of basic nursing practices related to MRI, including emergency procedures, sterile techniques, infection control, and CPR.
  • Experience in an academic or clinical setting.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent customer service and adaptability in a collaborative environment.

Education & Certifications

  • Required Education: AAS degree or equivalent hospital-based training program with certificate of completion.
  • Required Certifications: ARRT certification as R.T. (R)
  • BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
