Job Description

Our client is seeking a Permit Specialist to join our small, diverse team responsible for managing oversize and overweight transportation permits . This role involves ensuring that tractor-trailers carrying large or heavy loads can safely travel throughout the state in compliance with regulations.

You will work closely with transportation professionals nationwide, providing assistance and reviewing permits to ensure accuracy, compliance, and safety.

Work Location: On-site 100%

Key Responsibilities

• Administer oversize and overweight permits for tractor-trailers.
• Review permits for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with state and federal laws.
• Analyze routes and restrictions to ensure safe passage of vehicles.
• Provide customer support and assistance to commercial carriers.
• Collaborate with transportation professionals across the country to resolve issues efficiently.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

You can qualify via one of the following paths:

• Option 1: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Option 2: Associate degree plus 2 years of experience in:
• Motor carrier registration
• Permit-related responsibilities
• Compliance analysis with state or federal transportation regulations
• Option 3: High school diploma (or equivalent) plus 4 years of progressively responsible experience in the above areas.
