Overview
DIGI America, Inc. is seeking a Production Assistant to join us in our Label Manufacturing Facility. This successful candidate will be responsible for all day-to-day prep work, boxing, palletizing labeling, inventory control, inventory rotation order picking and more. The ideal candidate should have experience driving a forklift. This candidate must also have excellent organizational, communication, and decision-making skills, including the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Objectives of this role
- Ensure that the Label Division operates at peak efficiency assisting wherever needed.
- Assist with day-to-day operational issues to reach short and long-term performance goals as a team in a safe and productive manner.
- Control and manage stock inventories to ensure stock levels are always adequate and available for immediate purchase. Provide feedback to Dept. Manager on items needing replenished whenever necessary.
- Maintain general housekeeping throughout the facility daily.
- Review plan and prepare necessary workflows to help improve production. Evaluate product flow layouts and offer action plans to improve company standards, productivity, quality, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Manage stock inventory levels
- Manage supplies and report low levels and/or outages
- Put away incoming supplies
- Process new printing plates
- Clean Anilox Rollers and manage logbooks
- Pull consumable orders for shipping
- Assist production lines when needed to ensure productivity standards are met
- Coordinate multitasking and prioritize, ensuring all objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Maintain organizational and safety policies and procedures
- Ensure quality and consistency of products, improve efficiencies whenever possible, control/reduce waste
- Report any production related issues as necessary
- Correct and repackage damaged goods daily as found. Damaged cases are to be repackaged and returned to inventory immediately as seen and/or reported. If damaged goods are defective and cannot be repackaged for sale, it should be reported to the Manager in writing.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Forklift experience is preferred but not required, however you must be willing to learn
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Lift up to 30# throughout the day
- Have outstanding multi-tasking ability and exceptional decision-making skills and focus to complete all assignments daily as needed
- Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills
- Be driven to succeed, customer focused, and dedicated to teamwork success
- Have a strong sense of urgency with a "get the job done" attitude always making safety first the top priority

- Ability to be on your feet the majority of each day
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
