Production Associate I

Location: Round Lake, IL

Job Type: W2 Contract

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 2nd shift

Pay Rate: $19.25 per hour with 1 week of PTO and 401k options

Job Summary:

The Production Associate is responsible for product inspection, packaging, labeling and department cleaning. Independent thinking skills are necessary to assure compliance with Specifications, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), GMP’s and Safety of the department and product. Responsibilities vary across a three-shift operation, several distinct manufacturing processes and environments. The knowledge base necessary for this position is not limited to one specific environment or process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform in-process inspections and quality checks to identify product defects
• Clean machines and equipment in accordance with department SOPs
• Ensure proper packaging and labeling of products using automated packing equipment
• Operate laundry equipment to wash and dry clothes
• Rotate to any cell as Operator I when necessary
• Assist Material Handler I with moving freezer carts, pasteurization carts into incubators, and operating lift equipment
• Maintain attendance per RLD Attendance Policy
• Work mandatory overtime as required

Qualification Requirements:

• Basic mathematical skills
• Ability to work independently and troubleshoot label dispensing equipment
• Strong visual acuity to detect defects
• Good communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with SOPs, specifications, and job-specific training materials

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Experience in GMP manufacturing environment preferred
• Ability to understand, speak, read, and write English to comply with SOPs, specifications, GMPs, and training materials
• Ability to work in varying temperature ranges from 50°–70° with exposure to hot surfaces, wet environments, chemicals, and drug compounds

Physical Demands:

• No allergies to Penicillin or Cephalosporin drugs
• Visual acuity of 20/25 near vision (with or without corrective lenses)
• Can lift up to 40 lbs. from floor to shoulder height
• Push/pull up to 30 lbs. to move loaded freezer carts with assistance
• Frequent sitting, walking, standing, bending, and squatting
• Frequent reaching between waist and shoulder level; occasional reaching up and out
• Repetitive hand and finger movements
• Ability to work at machine-based speed
