About the Role:

Are you a results-driven logistics professional with a passion for leading high-performing teams and optimizing transportation solutions? We are seeking an experienced Road Freight Brokerage Manager to drive strategic planning, carrier management, client relationships, and compliance for general cargo, heavy haul, and oversized freight within the United States.

What You’ll Do:

Freight Management:

  • Lead and manage freight brokerage operations for general cargo, heavy haul, and oversized freight, prioritizing efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Negotiate competitive rates and contracts with carriers, ensuring reliable service and favorable terms.
  • Monitor shipments proactively, address potential issues, and implement effective solutions.
  • Leverage Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to streamline operations and improve visibility.

Carrier Relations:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with a network of specialized carriers.
  • Evaluate carrier performance, enforce service agreements, and address performance concerns.
  • Continuously expand the carrier network to meet evolving business needs.

Client Management:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, delivering exceptional service and tailored solutions.
  • Understand client-specific requirements, develop customized transportation plans, and exceed expectations.
  • Provide proactive communication, regular updates, and swift issue resolution.

Team Leadership & Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of logistics professionals, including dispatchers and coordinators.
  • Set team goals, assign responsibilities, and evaluate performance.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and personnel matters.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
  • Oversee permits and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Stay informed on regulatory changes and adjust processes as needed.

What You’ll Bring:

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • 5-10 years of experience in heavy haul and oversized freight management within the US.
  • 3+ years in a supervisory or leadership role within the transportation industry.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Deep understanding of the US transportation market, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Expertise in carrier negotiation, contract management, and freight operations.
  • Proficiency in TMS and other logistics software.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational abilities.
  • Proven track record in coaching and developing high-performing teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry certifications (e.g., CTL, CTP).
  • Advanced experience with TMS platforms.
