Position: Industrial Robot Teaching Operator (Full-Time, Hybrid)

Location: Englewood, Ohio (On-site at customer facilities with hybrid flexibility)

Role Description

The Industrial Robot Teaching Operator will be responsible for programming, operating, and optimizing industrial robots at various client manufacturing facilities. Frequent travel (more than half the month) and extended stays (over one month) at customer sites will be required. The operator will focus primarily on welding applications (spot and arc welding) and material handling processes. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-site robot teaching and programming for industrial robots from leading manufacturers such as FANUC, YASKAWA, NACHI, KAWASAKI, ABB , and others.
  • Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot robot programs primarily for welding (spot welding, arc welding) and material handling processes.
  • Perform quality control and validation of robotic operations to ensure compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate closely with customer engineering teams and internal colleagues to address technical challenges proactively.
  • Document work thoroughly, prepare technical reports, and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Participate actively in training sessions and continuous learning opportunities provided both in the U.S. and through the parent company in Japan.
Qualifications Required:
  • Proven hands-on experience in industrial robot teaching and programming (experience with FANUC, YASKAWA, NACHI, KAWASAKI, ABB robots highly preferred).
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to utilize standard hand tools and industrial equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse, international teams.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
Preferred:
  • Technical certifications or formal training in robotics, automation engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience or background in the manufacturing, automotive, or automation industries.
  • PLC programming experience.
Work Environment and Compensation
  • Salary: Competitive (Negotiable based on experience and qualifications), plus various allowances and potential retention bonus based on skill level.
  • Working Hours: Standard hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM), flexibility required to accommodate client schedules.
  • Travel Requirements: Frequent travel to customer sites, including extended business trips (more than half the month), sometimes exceeding one month.
