About the Role:
Our client are seeking a dedicated Senior Manager, Food Safety & Quality at their Cambridge, MD facility, specializing in aseptic processing.
Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Manager, Quality establishes, directs and monitors all in plant food safety, quality and sanitation procedures. You’ll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:
- Working with manufacturing management in improving and expanding our quality assurance procedures to ensure food safety is at the forefront at all times, reduce returns/complaints, reduce scrap, and provide follow-up activities on corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence
- Establishing and maintaining appropriate quality systems. Ensuring compliance with in-house and/or external specifications and standards to include HACCP, LACF, and GMP. Actively contributing to the data collections, trend analysis, investigation and improvements to processes, products and systems
- Working with quality and manufacturing teams to create and/or modify methods and procedures to ensure that appropriate processes and/or products are developed, tests are conducted and that products, materials, and manufacturing equipment meet required standards
- Designing, evaluating, implementing and maintaining quality assurance programs and systems for product and/or process development, manufacturing and testing to ensure product quality and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Implementing and managing the internal Quality Audit procedure and schedule
- Tracking and initiating investigation of complaint trends
- Assuring the development and utilization of equipment calibration and preventative maintenance systems
- Managing non-conforming, process deviations, and escalate complex issues when appropriate
- Managing product hold release programs
- Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws - responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of quality employees.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry or Food Science or related field is (required)
- Five or more years of experience in supervisory capacity in manufacturing (required)
- Previous work in LACF regulated facility
- GFSI (BRC or SQF) experience (required)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Highly developed leadership skills to ensure all quality programs meet current customer and corporate expectations.
- Ability to flex schedule when necessary to cover company needs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary range: $160,000, plus up to 20% annual performance-based bonus.
