Shipping Clerk

The Shipping Clerk position is accountable for coordinating and monitoring the products leaving the warehouse. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: picking inventory from shelves; accurately packing shipping items; and confirming packages match orders before shipping items out of warehouse. There are no supervisory responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Print daily sales receipts and cross check with SAP to ensure accuracy
• Prepare and print shipping labels to correspond with shipping needs each day
• Assemble and fill boxes/containers with items that need to be shipped daily
• Affix proper postage to each package in preparation for shipping
• Track inventory and report shortages to appropriate teams
• Process orders based on buyer’s shipping preference (UPS, FedEx, etc.)
• Contact carrier and schedule shipping for each package
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Update supplies as needed

Education and Experience

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Ability to work and communicate well with others, meet tight deadlines, and manage busy work schedule
• Effectively work in an environment requiring repetitive job responsibilities
• Ability to focus on safety and quality
• Basic computer skills required
• Forklift operating experience preferred

Work Environment

• Professional office environment and occasional manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, grinding, vapor, dust and lubricants
• Must adhere to company safety policies and wear the required personal protective equipment as needed
• Routinely required to use standard office equipment
• Expected to be proficient with a variety of computer programs; including MS Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.)

Physical Demands

• Required to stand, bend, walk, sit, use hands to operate office equipment, talk, and hear
• May occasionally lift or move office products and supplies up to 50 pounds
• Ability to use of a variety of hand tools, forklift and other machinery

Travel

• Minimal to no travel required for this position
