Job Description

An international chemical manufacturing company in the Pittsburgh, PA area is seeking a Technical Sales Representative (Chemical compound) candidate to join their team! An ideal candidate has extensive experience in plastics raw materials, resin additives, and chemical compound. Also, experience in polyurethane, polymer related products would be good. They work in many industries such as automotive, packaging, film, adhesives, coating, medical, cosmetics, etc. This is a full-time and direct-hire, and can be hybrid / remote.

Technical Sales Representative Responsibilities Include:

• Contact and visit potential clients within assigned territory to establish a business relationship
• Research the latest industry trends and create new opportunities to expand business
• Manage and maintain existing customer relationships and act as a customer liaison to different company departments
• Interface with customers regarding product issues, questions, etc.
• Provide quotes and pricing for customers
• Assist with program and product development and planning for future sales activities
• Provide timely activity reports to management
• Other duties as assigned

Technical Sales Representative Requirements Include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field preferred
• Must have prior Sales experience with in the chemical raw materials / chemical compound (formulation technology would be a big plus)
• Ability to multi-task and manage complex projects
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in a multicultural environment
• Good computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Ability to travel nationwide (about 50%)
• This position is in an office work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
