Title: Technical Writer

Onsite Requirement : Hybrid 2 Days a week

Location: Farmington Hills, MI

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Technical Writer with a strong background in the banking or financial services industry . In this role, you will work cross-functionally with business analysts, product managers, developers, and compliance teams to create and maintain high-quality documentation, including business and technical process documentation, system manuals, SOPs, user guides, and compliance-related materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, edit, and maintain clear, concise, and user-friendly technical documentation, including:
  • System architecture and integration documents
  • User manuals and training guides
  • Standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Regulatory and compliance documentation
  • Translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand content tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), IT, compliance, and operations teams to gather information and ensure accuracy of content.
  • Ensure all documentation aligns with internal standards, regulatory requirements, and branding guidelines.
  • Manage version control and documentation updates in response to system changes or regulatory updates.
  • Support audit and compliance efforts by producing and organizing documentation for reviews.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3–5+ years of experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in the banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of banking operations, compliance standards, or financial systems.
  • Proven ability to document technical systems, processes, and software applications.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a structured and regulated environment.
  • Proficient in documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, SharePoint, Confluence, Visio, Adobe Acrobat, or other content management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as FFIEC, SOX, or other financial compliance standards.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies or working in a software development lifecycle (SDLC) environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid Schedule: 2 days onsite per week in Farmington Hills, MI ; remaining day’s remote.

  • Fast-paced, highly regulated environment where accuracy and clarity are critical.
