Job Description
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the safe execution of inventory & warehouse management by receiving, storing, and shipping items; securing warehouse; supervising staff in a highly regulated dangerous goods environment. Maintain a high level of task efficiency as a team to continuously improve performance, cost, and customer satisfaction through on-time and in-full delivery while embedding right first-time behaviors in safety and execution.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accomplishes warehouse human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.
- Delegates assignments to other WH employees as required to best meet department needs
- Meets warehouse operational standards by contributing warehouse information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying warehouse system improvements.
- Supports meeting warehouse financial standards by providing annual budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.
- Continuously improve warehouse operations and process in the pursuit of increased efficiencies.
- Continuously improve ways-of-working within refining and optimizing procedures to make more efficient and train staff on same.
- Embed right first-time behaviors in the aspects of safety, quality, and process execution, while raising concerns of roadblocks inhibiting these behaviors to be properly executed
- Daily WMS transactions - right first time, timely and accurate; system = physical.
- Responsible for the inventory accuracy and proper storage of goods in a highly regulated dangerous good environment.
- Maintains storage area by organizing floor space and deployment of new floor plans, adhering to storage design principles, recommending improvements.
- Keeps equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; requiring preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Accomplishes warehouse and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Ensures continual compliance with international, federal, state and local packaging and transport regulations for all shipments. Works closely with regulatory team to ensure associated employees are current with regulations and are appropriately trained
- Maintain company expectations for Safety, Quality, Service Level, Sustainability, Integrity and Respect in daily activities. Ensure compliance in a highly regulated dangerous goods environment.
- Troubleshoot daily supply chain flow issues for all tools or systems used.
- Perform new and revised product specification approvals as the warehouse subject matter expert
- Actively participate in deployments of ERP/WMS/TMS upgrades related to distribution functions, smoke testing, optimization.
- Support 3PL activity in conjunction with Logistics team.
- Act as SME for metric development and reporting.
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience as Supervisor in an Operational environment
- Working in a fast-paced WH environment
- Hazmat and location control preferred
- MS Dynamics 365 F&O experience a plus
Education:
- Bachelor or Associates Degree Preferred
- Further qualifications in Operations/ Logistics Management beneficial
- Lean Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement Training a plus
