Job Description

Globe 24-7 , in partnership with a key client, is working to source a skilled and safety-oriented Welding Technician for mining operations in Arizona .

The Responsibilities

Welding and Fabrication

• Perform structural and equipment welding on mining assets including buckets, frames, chutes, and structural supports.
• Carry out fabrication, modifications, and repairs using MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications.

Maintenance and Repairs

• Support the maintenance team by repairing cracked or damaged components on mobile and fixed plant equipment.
• Conduct inspections of welded joints and structures to ensure strength and quality.
• Perform grinding, cutting, and shaping of metal components as required.

Safety and Compliance

• Follow all mine site safety procedures, including hot work permits and PPE standards.
• Ensure welds meet quality and safety standards, particularly in load-bearing applications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, free of hazards.

Equipment and Record Keeping

• Maintain welding tools, machines, and safety equipment in proper working condition.
• Log completed work, material usage, and inspection results.
• Coordinate with supervisors and other trades to prioritize tasks and minimize downtime.

The Requirements

• Proven experience in welding and metal fabrication, preferably in a mining or heavy industrial environment.
• Proficiency in MIG, TIG, stick, and oxy-acetylene welding.
• Ability to read technical drawings and work independently on repair tasks.
• High safety standards and knowledge of industrial welding codes.
• Legal right to work in the United States.
