ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT II

Milford Fire Department

The Town of Milford is seeking a qualified applicant to fill the position of full-time Administrative Assistant II (40 hrs / wk, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) reporting directly to the Fire Chief. This individual would perform variety of routine and complex clerical, secretarial and administrative work in keeping official records, providing administrative support to the Fire Chief and department personnel, assisting in the administration of the policies and procedures of the Milford Fire Department. Some aspects of the duties are of a highly sensitive nature and requires a great deal of discretion and confidentiality.

General responsibilities include maintaining official records, permits, fire prevention and investigation files. Preparation of department correspondence, assisting the compilation of materials required for the annual budget and various forms/reports maintained in the Fire Department. May field inquiries from the general public when possible and/or direct them to the appropriate party as necessary. This individual is also responsible for processing the bi-weekly payroll information and ensuring accurate records are forwarded to Finance for payroll processing. Experience with ImageTrend, PermitEyes and Munis is beneficial. Accuracy is a must. Proficiency with MS Office applications is required.
