DCI Donor Services operates three organ procurement/tissue recovery organizations: New Mexico Donor Services, Sierra Donor Services, and Tennessee Donor Services. We also maximize the gift of life through the DCI Donor Services Tissue Bank and Sierra Donor Services Eye Bank.

  Key responsibilities this position will perform include:

 

  • Manages the daily clinical operations in accordance with company policies, AOPO standards, and UNOS guidelines.

  • Facilitates innovative projects within clinical operations to drive OPO performance.

  • Ensures frontline staff have the appropriate tools, training, and support necessary to direct internal/external resources and execute the successful conversion of potential donors and maximize the recovery/transplantation of organs.

  • Mentors clinical staff and managers. Monitors employee development, encouraging growth and providing consultation on any personnel and/or operational staff training items. Delivers routine coaching, ensures staff accountability, and provides performance feedback – including progressive discipline and annual evaluations.

  • Participates in strategic planning. Attends affinity group meetings. Leads action plans aimed at strategic goals.

  • Develops, interprets, and analyzes data relating to the nature and volume of clinical activity (such as referrals, determining eligibility, introduction and approach issues, consent and conversation rates, clinical donor management and organ allocation and transplantation yield).

  • Participates in external (i.e., AOPO, UNOS Regional Meetings, NATCO) and internal committees. Keeps abreast of industry trends, regulations, and general knowledge.

  • Participates in the Medical Directors and Medical Advisory Committee related to policy/practice changes and review of donation opportunities as required by regulatory bodies.

  • Builds and maintains external relationships with hospital partners, transplant centers, and other OPOs.

  • Works with leadership to facilitate communication between departments and encourages clinical staff to support and participate in hospital development initiatives.

  • Participates in the clinical operations call schedule as an Organ Recovery Coordinator at least twice monthly.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Business or Allied Healthcare
  • Registered Nurse Credential preferred
  • 3+ years OPO clinical experience
  • 2+ years leadership experience
  • Valid Driver’s License with ability to pass MVR underwriting requirements.
