We are looking for an experienced Automotive Technician to join our growing family-owned auto repair shop in Astoria, OR.

Youngs River Auto Repair is a husband-and-wife-owned and operated business that’s just 4 months old and already growing fast. We’ve built a foundation on honesty, transparency, and skilled work – and now, we’re ready to welcome our first employee: an experienced Automotive Technician who can work independently, values quality, and takes pride in their craft.

We’re not a high-pressure or flat-rate shop. We don’t upsell, cut corners, or push for volume. Our focus is on doing the job right and taking great care of our customers – and the people who work here.

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of professional tech experience (more = better!)
• Confident diagnosing and repairing most vehicle systems independently
• Reliability and pride in delivering high-quality work, and personal accountability when something goes wrong (so we can collectively make it right)
• Openness and approachability with a collaborative and flexible mindset – we all bring different strengths and perspectives, and our shop will benefit if we can openly brainstorm ideas, dialogue around creative solutions, and tackle problems head-on

Bonus Points ( Preferred, not required ):

• Master-level / “A-Tech” skills
• ASE certifications (or willingness to earn/renew them)
• Diesel experience
• Other specialized training and/or experience

Compensation & Work-Life Balance:

• Hourly Pay : $30-$50 DOE – true hourly, no flat-rate
• Flexible Work Schedule : Full-time, part-time, or consistent self-set hours for the right candidate
• No Weekends or Holidays Required : but we’re also open to discussing if that’s something that you’d be excited about
• PTO : Start accruing at 90 days; earn up to 2 weeks by the end of your first year working with us
• Paid Holidays : New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day

• Education Support : Paid ASE certs/renewals and continuing ed opportunities
• Uniforms & Boots : We currently work in a casual environment with shop-branded t-shirts & hoodies, which would be provided to you. Stipend for uniforms available if preferred, plus a separate stipend for work boots.
• Tools : $75/month stipend or accrue up to $900 over your first year.
• Healthcare & Retirement : We’re actively researching quality, affordable options to offer medical/dental/vision and 401(k) with employer contributions; more details will be provided prior to or at time of job offer.
