POSITION OVERVIEW

The Chief Strategy Officer is a member of the Executive Leadership Team and the C-Suite of ProGeorgia. As the Chief Strategy Officer at ProGeorgia, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the organization towards its long-term goals. You will review the organization to assess strengths, weaknesses, operational effectiveness, and opportunities for improvement. In this capacity, you will supervise co-directors, ensuring alignment with strategic initiatives and fostering collaboration across departments. The Chief Strategy Officer collaborates closely with the CEO and works in partnership with other departments to ensure alignment on strategic initiatives and organizational goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Chief Strategy Officer reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for the following:

  • Prioritize donor cultivation, stewardship, and appreciation.
  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 50 key donors and funders.
  • Ensure organizational resources and communications align with ProGeorgia’s mission and values.
  • Oversee marketing and communication strategies for fundraising campaigns.
  • Develop and implement an annual fundraising plan in collaboration with the CEO.
  • Optimize the identification and solicitation of individual donors and funders.
  • Collaborate with community partners and businesses to enhance visibility.
  • Provide fundraising progress reports to the CEO and Board.
  • Create and lead a Fundraising Committee to support fundraising efforts.
  • Build relationships to connect stakeholders to ProGeorgia’s mission.
  • Supervise and support a team of co-directors, focusing on strategic alignment and collaboration to enhance overall advancement efforts.
  • Provide performance feedback and foster professional development among team members.
  • Educate and empower staff in fundraising activities, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Oversee the production of marketing materials and manage the grant process.
  • Ensure high standards for all communications.
  • Participate in new board member orientation and share the development plan with the Board.
  • Collaborate with the Board Fundraising Committee on initiatives.
  • Manage the advancement department’s annual budget.
  • Lead efforts to secure funding for the organization’s mission.
  • Maintain relationships with partners, government entities, donors, and the community.

  • Additional tasks and responsibilities are assigned as needed.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, computer science, engineering, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Has mastery of agile, Oracle ERP, and cloud software systems.
  • 10 years of experience in strategic planning, business development, or a related role.
  • 10 years of managing project managers and team members.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.

LOCATION

The position is located in Atlanta, Georgia, and requires working a remote schedule with some required travel (40%).

COMPENSATION: A competitive salary of up to $190,000, based on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
