Job Description

Our client is seeking a Senior Civil Designer for their office in Richmond, VA

Position Summary:

The Designer’s primary function is to draft and design (with guidance from engineer) site developments. Typical elements will include roads, layout, water and sewer, drainage, grading, storm water management, erosion control. The Designer will be responsible for meeting project schedules as assigned by Supervisor.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design project elements using relevant engineering office software, Autocad and Civil 3D.
• Provide design calculations using spreadsheets and specific software to solve specific problems.
• Use AutoCAD and C3D to complete design details and plan sets.
• Respond to comments from regulatory agencies.
• Communicate with internal design team and regulatory agencies and as directed by Supervisor.
• Work closely with Supervisor to complete projects within schedules.
• Complete required training courses, videos and materials.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

• Associates Degree - Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
• Experience using AutoCAD and C3D modeling and design software.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Personal organization and time management skills.
• Able to build strong relationship with coworkers.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• JR Designer – 0-4 years of experience.
• Designer 3-10 years of experience
• SR Designer +10 years of experience
