Title : Clinical Manager

Job Summary:

The Clinical Manager works under the direction of the physician to maintain continuity of patient care. This position is responsible for managing daily clinical operations and supervising assigned personnel in a sub-specialty ophthalmology medical practice. This position requires travel with the physician to our different clinic locations.

Locations : Will work out of multiple clinics in the KC area

Duties and Responsibilities:

Management Duties:

• Train and supervise assigned employees and delegate tasks.
• Complete annual employee evaluations.
• Review and approve timecards for clinical staff.
• Knowledge and practice of HIPAA, OSHA and EMR compliance guidelines in healthcare.
• Demonstrate ability to identify and resolve interpersonal conflicts when dealing with members of the health care team and all personnel.
• Demonstrate ability to implement problem solving techniques.
• Daily awareness of practice staffing assignments and support appropriate staffing levels.
• Exhibit timely, satisfactory completion of all job assignments with minimal assistance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Clinical Duties:

• Manage the workflow of the clinic.
• Maintain physician schedules and determine appropriate patient scheduling templates with available resources, supplies, and physical locations.
• Evaluate, assess and prepare patients for examination.
• Accompany doctor in examining patient and assist and document the examination.
• Review examinations, disease process, test results, and therapeutic procedure to patient and family, assessing their understanding to take appropriate action.
• Document medications administered and any reactions.
• Prepare patient for surgical encounter, assuring patient has the necessary information and/or consent form; and coordinate admission and pre-admission testing.
• Assist in completion of all pertinent practice, insurance, hospital, and patient paperwork.
• Coordinate supply and drug inventory for all appropriate locations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Experience working one on one with patients.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and availability to travel to our multiple clinic locations.
• Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Work is of medium demand: walking and standing most of the time on duty; optional lifting of patients or patient assistance; high degree of hearing accuracy required; high degree of visual acuity.
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Leadership and management experience preferred.
• Other functions may be assigned, and management retains the right to add or change the duties at any time.
