Job Description

The Equipment Maintenance & Facility Manager will lead all manufacturing equipment and facilities maintenance activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding, directing, and assisting in the support of maintenance for the manufacturing operations, facilities improvement and building maintenance in a multi shift manufacturing environment. This will include the development, implementation, scheduling and tracking of predictive and preventative maintenance practices. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (include, but are not limited to)

  • Must possess good working knowledge of electronic machine control, PLC input and output operations, positioning circuitry, electrical systems, including 3 phase, electrical schematics, and fluid delivery.
  • Experience with mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Develop and implement corrective maintenance procedures for the facility and related shop equipment systems. Oversee staff and contracted services assigned to develop comprehensive maintenance programs.
  • Ability to build and maintain a preventative maintenance program based on data (MTBF, MTTR), identify, and manage spares inventory.
  • Ensure proper safety standards are followed. Ensure completion of assigned projects and tasks in a timely manner.
  • Collaborates with staff in the planning, budgeting, and scheduling machine maintenance.
  • Ordering of Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) supplies and working with contract service suppliers
  • Provide procedures for maintenance, repair and or replacement of grounds and systems equipment.
  • Has the capability and may, at times, perform hands-on maintenance activities when necessary.
  • Responsible for facilities grounds Maintenance.
  • Conducts cost studies and, based on analyses, recommends improvements including construction or renovation of structures, and purchase of new equipment.
  • Builds and maintains key internal customer relationships to support collaborative planning.
  • Maintains a Safe, Healthy and Environmentally sound workplace.
  • Retains a working knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations including OSHA, ADA fire marshal requirements, Hazmat requirements, Safety regulations and Compliances along with working to meet local and regulatory requirements.
  • Core member of Safety Team
  • Facilitate key safety training to production/ install staff.
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Able to work off hours in emergency maintenance situations.
  • Ability to learn and train on state-of-the-art systems and capital equipment.
  • Knowledge of woodworking technology and manufacturing practices a plus
  • Demonstrated strong leadership & interpersonal skills.
  • Computer skills – MS Office suite, Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of a two-year technical degree
  • Three years of departmental supervisory experience
  • 5 years’ facilities management experience
  • Five years of related hands-on experience or combination of experience and training.
  • Professionalism and the ability to effectively interact with coworkers.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline.
  • 7+ years of facilities management experience
  • Mechanical and electronic systems experience a plus.
