Job Responsibilities:

As a  Funeral Director , you will play a key role in helping families navigate the funeral planning process with dignity and care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing exceptional compassionate service to families by guiding them through funeral arrangements and final wishes.
  • Coordinating and directing funeral services, celebrations, visitations, memorials, and burials.
  • Handling legal and administrative tasks such as filing death certificates, obtaining permits, and coordinating with clergy, cemeteries, and other service providers.
  • Ensuring seamless operations by overseeing transportation, embalming (if applicable), and proper care of the deceased.
  • Offering grief support and ongoing assistance to families before, during, and after services.
  • Maintaining compliance with all state and federal laws, industry regulations, and funeral home policies.
  • Participating in community outreach to strengthen Heartlight Funeral Services' commitment to service beyond the funeral.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Funeral Director in Utah (or ability to obtain licensure).
  • Experience in funeral directing and arranging services preferred.
  • Strong  communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • A compassionate, professional demeanor and the ability to provide comfort to grieving families.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations.
  • Proficiency in funeral service software, Microsoft Office, and general administrative tasks.
  • A valid driver's license, clean driving record and reliable transportation.
