Power Systems Engineer – Green Hydrogen | Houston, TX | Hybrid
The hydrogen industry is evolving rapidly, and my client—a global leader in PEM electrolysis—is driving that change. They're looking for a Power Systems Engineer with expertise in switchgear or IGBT to play a key role in developing cutting-edge green hydrogen technology.
The Role
This position is at the forefront of integrating power electronics into hydrogen production. You'll be responsible for designing and optimizing power supply systems , leading project-specific electrical engineering , and working directly with customers and cross-functional teams to develop tailored solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
✔ Designing transformers, rectifiers (MV/LV, IGBT), and electrical enclosures
✔ Assessing grid connection conditions and ensuring compliance with NEC/IEC standards
✔ Developing technical documentation (SLDs, layout plans, specs)
✔ Collaborating with sales, bidding, engineering, and project teams in the US and Germany
What You Bring
🔹 7+ years of electrical/hardware planning experience in process engineering, ideally within hydrogen or oil & gas
🔹 Strong knowledge of electrical protection concepts, transformers, and power electronics
🔹 Experience designing IGBT rectifiers for MV/LV applications
🔹 Familiarity with grid integration for renewable energy (a plus)
🔹 PE license preferred but not required
