Safety Manager (Designated Engineering Representative) We are seeking a Safety Manager contractor to join our team focused on Wind River Operating System and VxWorks BSP modifications. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and enforcing internal safety standards for code development, ensuring compliance with safety frameworks like DO178C, IEC 62304, IEC 62508, and ISO 26262. Your key tasks will include auditing reviewed code to ensure adherence to safety standards, collaborating with the development team on safety-critical features, and maintaining the integrity of safety compliance across Linux OS-level work and Elxr-based (Debian) OS projects. You will also leverage your embedded software development expertise, specifically in C coding, BSP, and bring-up, to contribute to the overall safety and functionality of our products.
Required Skills: - Strong knowledge of safety standards such as DO178C, IEC 62304, IEC 62508, and ISO 26262
- Experience with auditing code to ensure safety compliance
- Familiarity with Wind River Operating System and VxWorks BSP development
- Experience working with Yocto distribution and Linux OS-level development
- Proven ability to develop and enforce internal safety standards for code development
- Experience in embedded software development, including C coding and system-level development
- Expertise in BSP (Board Support Package) development and bring-up for embedded systems
- Experience working in safety-critical environments
Nice to Have Skills: - Experience with Elxr (Debian-based OS) work
- Familiarity with embedded systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS)
- Background in compliance documentation and safety reports
- Previous experience as a Designated Engineering Representative (DER) or similar role
Estimated Min Rate : $85.00
Estimated Max Rate : $90.00
