We are currently seeking a SAP S/4HANA Delivery Manager – Technology & Development to work on our client site in Charlotte, NC.

This role is on site locally or travel weekly to the site.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic SAP Delivery Manager – Technology & Development to lead the technical delivery workstream of our enterprise-wide transformation program, transitioning from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA. This role is a critical leadership position focused on managing the delivery of SAP technical components, custom development, integrations, and platform services to support our future-state S/4HANA environment.

The successful candidate will coordinate cross-functional technology teams, manage third-party vendors, and ensure seamless delivery of SAP development efforts aligned with the program’s roadmap, milestones, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Program & Delivery Management

• Own and drive the delivery of all SAP technical and development activities within the S/4HANA transformation program.
• Develop and maintain detailed delivery plans, aligning technical deliverables with project milestones and business objectives.
• Ensure the timely delivery of developments, technical integrations, conversions, and enhancements with minimal disruption to operations.

Team & Stakeholder Leadership

• Lead a team of SAP developers, integration specialists, BASIS engineers, and technical analysts.
• Coordinate with functional teams, solution architects, and SAP program leadership to align technical solutions with business processes.
• Collaborate with external system integrators and delivery partners to ensure quality and accountability across all technical workstreams.

SAP Development Oversight

• Manage custom development lifecycle (specs, design, build, test, deploy) using tools such as ABAP, SAP Fiori/UI5, CDS, RAP, BTP, etc.
• Oversee the conversion and remediation of custom code from ECC to S/4HANA, including use of SAP tools (e.g., ATC, CVA, SAP Readiness Check).
• Guide the development of APIs and interfaces using SAP PI/PO, CPI, or other middleware.

Technical Governance & Best Practices

• Ensure adherence to SAP development and security standards, technical governance, and compliance requirements.
• Support implementation of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks where applicable.
• Provide technical risk management and support cutover and hypercare planning.

Reporting & Communication

• Provide regular progress updates to program leadership and executive stakeholders.
• Monitor delivery metrics and KPIs to track development progress, quality, and performance.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in SAP technical/development roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership or delivery management capacity.
• Proven experience in SAP ECC to S/4HANA transformations (Greenfield, Brownfield, or Selective Data Transition).
• Deep knowledge of SAP development tools and practices including ABAP, CDS Views, Fiori/UI5, and SAP BTP.
• Strong understanding of SAP’s technology stack, integration tools (PI/PO, CPI), and infrastructure components.
• Experience leading cross-functional and multi-vendor technical teams in a complex program environment.
• Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA implementation tools and methodology (SAP Activate, Solution Manager).
• Familiarity with SAP Clean Core and extensibility concepts using BTP.
• Experience with SalesForce or ServiceMax.
• PMP, Scrum Master, or ITIL certifications are a plus.
• Experience working in a regulated or global enterprise environment.
