Job Description

Job Title: Data Analytics Specialist

**This is an on-site role with the need to start someone immediately. Candidate must be local in order to start immediately if needed.**

Job Duties: The Data Analytics Specialist supports our client's leaders by developing analytic and reporting solutions throughout the entire analytics lifecycle, from systems of record to reports and analyses for business leaders. This role is responsible for developing our client's data analytics infrastructure by designing data models, gathering information, coding, and maintaining documentation. The specialist communicates complex information in an understandable and compelling manner to a variety of end users at many levels of the organization. Collaboration with other staff and independent work as assigned are key components of this role.

  • Design and create processes to automate the flow of data from systems of record into structured datasets.
  • Clean and transform raw data using SQL or Power Automate to make analysis and reporting simpler and more efficient.
  • Design and build data models to represent structured datasets.
  • Create clear documentation of data models, data pipelines, and data processes.
  • Consult with executives and staff to gather business requirements.
  • Collaborate with staff to understand operational processes that generate data to be analyzed.
  • Create ad-hoc and standardized reports, dashboards, and analyses using Power BI, Microsoft Excel, Salesforce, and other tools.
  • Write and run SQL programming code to model, extract, merge, and summarize data.
  • Understand and combine data from a variety of disparate data sources to create meaningful analyses.
  • Create clear and meaningful charts and other visualizations to tell an impactful data story and drive business performance.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in data science, business information systems, or a related field, and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in data management, analyzing, reporting, and communicating data, OR a combination of education and additional job-related experience.
  • Demonstrated passion and commitment to working in the social sector and on society’s most important challenges.
  • Experience moving data across multiple systems is required.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms like Microsoft Azure or AWS.
  • Experience with data automation tools and code, such as Power Automate.
  • Experience modeling and transforming complex data and creating business performance measures.
  • Demonstrated experience writing SQL code in a business setting is required.
  • Demonstrated experience using business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI) to create organizational dashboards is required.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing business data to drive performance; industry experience is a plus.
  • Experience managing complex, data-related projects is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction and oversight.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple business functions.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and attention to detail.
  • Experience communicating effectively across all levels of the organization.

Physical Requirements:

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks, frequently sitting.
  • Occasionally stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, sort/file paperwork or parts.
  • Lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 15 pounds.
  • Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl.

Compensation: $70-80/hr

Duration : 3-6 months with possibility of extension
