Role Summary:

We are seeking a talented and user-centric UI/UX Designer to join our growing team. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience across Virtue AI's digital presence. This includes designing intuitive interfaces for our core products (website, API platform), creating compelling visuals for communications, and ensuring a seamless and trustworthy experience for our users – ranging from developers and data scientists to compliance officers and business leaders. You will translate complex AI safety concepts and technical functionalities into clear, accessible, and engaging designs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design & Implementation: Design, develop, test, and maintain user interfaces for Virtue AI's products and web properties.
• Website Development: Lead the design and implementation of the Virtue AI marketing website using visual builders like Webflow or Elementor, ensuring a responsive, performant, and visually engaging experience.
• Platform Frontend Development: Design and build the frontend for our core API platform and dashboards using React and Tailwind CSS, focusing on usability, data visualization, and seamless user workflows for technical audiences.
• UI/UX Design: Create wireframes, user flows, mockups, and prototypes based on user research and product requirements, ensuring a user-centered approach.
• Component Development: Build reusable, maintainable, and accessible UI components using React and Tailwind CSS.
• Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, backend engineers (for API integration), researchers, and marketing to translate requirements into functional features and ensure technical feasibility of designs.
• Cross-Browser/Device Compatibility: Ensure interfaces are responsive and function correctly across various browsers and devices.
• Code Quality & Performance: Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code. Optimize application performance for speed and scalability.
• Communications Design Support: Assist in designing and potentially implementing visual elements for reports, presentations, and PR materials.
• Stay Current: Keep abreast of the latest UI/UX trends, frontend technologies (React, Tailwind, Webflow/Elementor), best practices, and accessibility standards.

Required Qualifications :

• 5+ years of professional experience as a UI/UX Designer, Product Designer, or similar role.
• Strong Portfolio: A portfolio demonstrating proficiency in both UI/UX design (wireframes, mockups, prototypes) and frontend development (links to live projects you built, code samples/GitHub link preferred).
• Frontend Expertise:
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (ES6+).
• Proven experience building web applications with React.
• Strong experience with Tailwind CSS.
• Demonstrable experience building and managing websites using Webflow or Elementor (or similar visual development platforms).
• UI/UX Skills:
• Proficiency with design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
• Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, interaction design, information architecture, and usability.
• Good visual design sense with attention to detail.
• Collaboration & Communication: Strong communication skills and experience working effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Version Control: Proficiency with Git.
• Ability to translate complex ideas into simple, intuitive interfaces and functional code.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience designing and building interfaces for technical users or complex B2B/SaaS platforms.
• Experience designing developer platforms, API documentation sites, or cybersecurity tools.
• Experience consuming RESTful APIs or GraphQL.
• Familiarity with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Zustand, Context API).
• Experience with frontend testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library).
• Knowledge of web accessibility (WCAG) standards and best practices.
• Experience setting up frontend build tooling (Webpack, Vite, etc.).
• Familiarity with or strong interest in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or AI Safety concepts.
• Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
