What You Will Be Doing

A respected company in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking an Executive Project Manager to lead large, complex construction projects. This role involves overseeing all aspects of one or multiple projects to ensure success in meeting schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction goals. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience in HVAC construction, and a proven ability to drive project teams toward exceptional results.

The Ideal Candidate

• Project Leadership: Direct and manage project teams, including project managers, superintendents, engineers, and subcontractors, to achieve project milestones and maintain quality standards.
• Pre-Construction & Client Engagement: Collaborate in pre-construction phases to understand client needs, demonstrate company capabilities, and help secure project commitments.
• Financial Oversight: Develop and oversee project financials in partnership with the accounting team, ensuring alignment with project goals and maintaining budget integrity.
• Project Scheduling: Establish and monitor project schedules, ensuring alignment with contractual deadlines and performance expectations.
• Planning & Procurement: Lead essential project planning, including design support, equipment procurement, commissioning, and quality control.
• Risk Management: Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks following company guidelines, implementing corrective measures as needed.
• Mentorship & Development: Evaluate, mentor, and support the career growth of project staff, fostering a team-oriented culture and promoting individual development.
• Client Relations: Build and maintain strong client relationships, actively participating in meetings to ensure client satisfaction and address feedback.
• Close-Out & Best Practices: Facilitate final close-out meetings, capturing lessons learned and documenting best practices for future projects.

Other Essential Functions

• Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field preferred; minimum of 10 years in HVAC construction project management.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of project management software and MS Office Suite.
• Leadership & Problem-Solving Skills: Outstanding communication and team-building skills, with a proactive approach to conflict resolution and problem-solving.
• Commitment to Quality: Self-motivated and dedicated to delivering top-quality results and exceeding client expectations.
